Today we’re launching Ouma Connect, a portal that gives surrogacy and reproductive-services agencies a clear view of medical clearance for every gestational carrier candidate they refer to us. Circle Surrogacy, one of the largest and oldest surrogacy agencies in the country, is the first agency on Connect, and access is by invitation.
Why we built it
Clearing a gestational carrier at Ouma takes a nurse intake and a consult with one of our maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) physicians. All of that happens inside our practice, out of the agency’s sight.
“Medical clearance is the one step in screening a carrier that happens somewhere the agency can’t see,” said Sina Haeri, MD, MHSA, our co-founder and CEO. “Connect opens it up: where each candidate stands, what’s booked next, and the letter the moment we release it. That’s how a medical practice should work with the agencies that trust it with their candidates.”
What agencies get
- One board for every candidate. Every candidate an agency has referred sits on a single status board with their current stage, the days they’ve spent in it, and their next appointment. The board highlights anything waiting on the agency, so those items get handled and clearance moves faster.
- Clearance letters the moment they’re released. When our MFM team clears a candidate, the clearance letter appears on the agency’s Reports page as soon as we release it.
- Requests in one thread. Questions, revision requests, and changes go through Connect instead of email. Each request is tied to its referral, and our team’s replies land in the same thread.
- A status link for intended parents. From any active referral, an agency can create a private status link to share with the intended parents.
- Referrals that arrive attributed. Each agency gets its own branded referral form and a standing referral link for its coordinators, so new referrals land on the board already credited to the agency.
We built Connect ourselves, on the same care platform that runs the rest of Ouma. You can see the board, the reports, and messaging in the Ouma Connect tour.
From the first agency on Connect
“The question our team hears most from intended parents is where things stand with their carrier’s clearance, and until now the answer meant an email and a wait,” said Heather Wilkinson, Senior Manager of Surrogate Success at Circle Surrogacy. “Now it’s on our board. The clearance letter is there the moment Ouma releases it, and if a candidate is waiting on something only we can fix, Connect tells us that too. That’s less chasing for our specialists and a faster answer for the families we work with.”
Built to share only what agencies need
Access is by invitation, with two-step sign-in for everyone. Each agency sees only its own referrals. Candidates appear by first name and last initial, and Connect carries stages, dates, and appointments. Read more about privacy in Connect.
See Connect at ASRM 2026
We’re exhibiting at the ASRM 2026 Scientific Congress & Expo, October 24 to 28 at the Baltimore Convention Center. Stop by booth 963 to see Connect for yourself.
If you won’t be in Baltimore, your agency can ask about an invitation. Agencies already on Connect can sign in at connect.oumahealth.com.
